Description

Penderyn Portwood Single Malt Welsh Whisky is a premium Welsh whisky that is aged in Portwood casks, which previously held Port wine. This 700ml bottle has an ABV (alcohol by volume) of 46%.

The whisky is crafted using a unique distillation process in a single copper pot still that produces a light, fruity spirit with subtle notes of peat smoke. After distillation, the spirit is matured in ex-bourbon barrels and then finished in Portwood casks from Portugal’s Douro Valley.

The maturation in the Portwood casks gives the whisky a rich, fruity flavor with notes of red berries, plum, and cherry. The whisky also has a subtle sweetness with hints of caramel and vanilla, and a gentle smokiness that balances out the sweetness. The finish is long and warming, with a hint of spice.
