As opposed to their Bourbon, Yellow Rose rye is a sourced straight rye whiskey with a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% barley. It’s bottled at the Texas distillery at 90 proof. All of the whiskeys in the blend are at least two years old, although most are four years old.
Tasting note: Atypical aromas are surprisingly broad and sweet given the mash bill: Boiled lollies, peppermint chocolate and peach nectar come to mind, followed by candied fruits and rye spices in the mouth. Rounds out with grilled pineapple and minty rye notes through the aftertaste. Interesting take. 45% Alc./Vol.
