A cask-strength Lagavulin from American oak refill casks has been bottled for the ‘Special Release’ series every year since 2002. These editions are created to showcase Lagavulin at its raw and natural best. Reports have the 2018 to be slightly sweeter than most past editions, while retaining all of the pungent maritime character you’d expect. Traditionally the value buy of the series, the bad news is this year’s Australian allocation is one of the smallest on record.
