McLaren Vale’s ’21 vintage was one of the best we’ve had in a long time. To us, as farmers, it felt like something to cherish, like a reward for years of hard work. We had the wettest start to spring since 2010, followed by a mild summer that kept vines hydrated and berries full.
The quality of the vintage is evident in this Nero d’Avola. With a crimson colour, the wine is showing blueberries, violets and leafy herbs on the nose, while the palate provides dark berries, spiced chai and jubey fruits. Tied up with a succulent finish, it’s a wine that’ll work magic alongside a mushroom tagliatelle with plenty of parmesan.
