A Baco dominant Armagnac filled out with Ugni Blanc, Colombard and Folle Blanche, blended with material up to 20 years old.
Tasting note: The beautiful honey-topaz colour is reminscent of autumn leaves. Opening whiffs are gently peppery, fruity, full and nicely balanced: Ripe plums, fruit cake and delicate vanilla aromas develop, with 1-2 minutes of air-time drying the nose-feel. A medium to full bodied Armagnac with controlled sweet-dry flavours, richening up towards the finish in a slow surge of dried fruits, honey and sticky date. Cigar box, cold tea and hints of orchard fruits weave through the aftertaste. A step up from the somewhat woody and lean VSOP, this shows better definition and steady presence. 40% Alc./Vol.
