In modern times, Vintage copper column stills have been eliminated for the most part in the production of Vodka, due to its inefficiency in being able to refine alcohols. These ‘undesirable’ compounds contain flavours that can enhance the character of a given spirit (e.g. whisky), the trade off being a slightly ‘harsher’ final result. To counter this effect, additional copper packets have been employed to further purify the vodka and react with any sulphur remnants. An intriguing addition toward a trending Vodka style.
