[2000 Vintage Tasted]  Trinidad produces rum via column stills which result in a lighter, more elegant spirit. Aged for ten years, this rum exhibits a deep straw with a pale straw hue. The nose initially offers subtle notes of clove and anise over a delicious buttered shortbread base with some cocoa, menthol and spice notes emerging. Medium to full bodied, the palate unfolds rich creme caramel counterpointed by slightly drier flavours of shortbread, then spearmint. Spicy, tingly and slightly oily mouthfeel. Excellent length. Finishes long with a honeycomb and cocoa aftertaste and subtle spearmint fade. For lovers of Scotch finger biscuits! 42% Alc./Vol.
